Industry Overview

Helping sinter-based AM move beyond the build box.

Sinter-based metal additive manufacturing depends on more than printing a green part. Debinding, sintering, shrinkage, densification, atmosphere control, and material behavior define whether an application can qualify and scale. DSH Technologies helps metal AM teams understand and control the post-print metallurgy that determines finished part success.

  • Predict dimensional changes and shrinkage from the green part to the finished component.

  • Qualify processes for new materials and application validation.

  • Scale from prototyping to production with proven and tested workflows.

Common Challenges

The post-print challenges metal AM teams face.

DSH supports sinter-based AM organizations navigating the gap between printed green parts and qualified finished metal components.

01

Shrinkage Prediction

Geometry, feedstock, binder removal, and furnace conditions all influence dimensional outcomes after sintering.

02

Material Qualification

New material systems require disciplined evaluation across density, properties, microstructure, and repeatability.

03

Production Scaling

Moving from prototype success to repeatable production requires process control beyond the printer itself.

Technology: Binder Jetting
Description: Selectively deposits liquid binder agent onto a thin layer of metal powder particles to create parts layer-by-layer.

Materials Available: SS316L, SS 17-4PH, M2 Tool Steel, Inconel 615, Pure Copper

Incus LMM

Technology: Lithography Metal Manufacturing (LMM)

Description: A light source selectively cures the photoreactive binder within the feedstock, layer-by-layer, embedding the metal powder, resulting in a green part structure.

Materials Available: SS316L, SS17-4PH, Titanium 64, Copper, Tungsten, Precious Metals

Additive Screen Printing with Exentis Group

Technology: Additive Screen Printing
Description: During the printing process, the material is applied in paste form with a squeegee, layer-by-layer through a screen, onto a workpiece carrier until the parts reach the desired height, resulting in a green-stage part.

Materials Available: SS316L, Steel, Soft Magnetics, Al6061, AlMg1SiCu, Cu ETP, Graphite & Ceramic

Tritone Mold Jet

Technology: Mold Jet
Description: Jetting layers of mold forms cavities of the inverse part geometry mixed with high-density paste that is rapidly dried and hardened, resulting in robust green parts embedded in a stable hard mold.

Materials Available: Stainless Steel, Low Alloy Steels, Tool Steels, High Temp Alloys, Titanium, Copper Alloys, & Ceramic.
